Swatch

Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 June 2026

These terms cover your use of Swatch at tryswatch.com, a free in-browser colour tool operated by Lars Holmström (larsh.dev) in Melbourne, Australia. By using Swatch you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the tool.

01

The tool

Swatch lets you browse curated palettes and build your own using colour theory, then export them. It is free, needs no account, and is offered as a convenience.

02

Your colours are yours

Any palette, colour values, or combination you create with Swatch is yours to use however you like, including in commercial work. Colours and hex values themselves are not something we claim or could own.

Exported files (PNG and SVG) may include a small “tryswatch.com” mark. You are free to use the exports as they are, and there is no attribution requirement beyond that mark being present in the file we generate.

03

What stays ours

Swatch itself — its name, branding, design, layout, and underlying code — belongs to its operator and is protected by copyright. Using the tool does not give you any right to copy, redistribute, resell, or build a competing service from it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

04

Fair use of the service

Please use Swatch reasonably. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or undermine the service or its security, and do not use it to do anything unlawful.

05

No warranty

Swatch is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee it will always be available, accurate, or error-free. Colour rendering varies between screens and contexts, so check accessibility and contrast in your own environment before relying on a palette — the in-app contrast checker is a guide, not a guarantee.

06

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, Swatch. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

07

Privacy

Your use of Swatch is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which explains what is and is not collected.

08

Changes

We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this URL with the date above. Continuing to use Swatch after a change means you accept the updated terms.

09

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
